Survival Research Laboratories Machine Circus at the end of the 20th Century
12/23 (thu), 6:30pm. SRL, a San Francisco based performance group, use giant, computer-controlled machines and robots for their fantastic happenings. Created by the SRL members led by Mark Pauline, the bizarre steel contraptions interact via a computer network. In an experiment they will be remote-controlled from inside the ICC building to carry out post-industrial battles and electric ballet dances. High-resolution images of the event will be transmitted all over Japan, using super high speed optical fiber line, and -- almost needless to say -- the show will be transmitted live throughout the world via the Internet.
