When I saw the 3+ hour show of the 100 greatest movies on CSN1 cable, I thought I've got to have my say about their list.
Say, in case you haven't noticed, PULP FICTION has made it. One of my favorites. Also “ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST,” I've seen that one 14 times so far. Couldn't believe that “DANCES WITH WOLVES” made the top 100 — Wow, I love that one. I hope they both escaped at the end. And FARGO, this is a great movie. Thanks AFI, for letting that one in. Don't tell anybody, but I've seen FARGO 6 times alone within the last 12 months. Wonder if anyone ever found the cash in the case. You think it's worth looking for? FORREST GUMP. Did he finally sell his Apple shares?
I was a little worried when I saw STAR WARS in the top 20. I thought I’d start seeing TITANIC, SPEED or some other low-level-high-budget, money-spinning dross, but — thank god — none of this crap made it. Despite its commercial success, Star Wars deserves to be in the top 100, but definitely not at spot 15. There are much better movies below it in the list.
